The Blue Eye (Albanian Blue Eye) is a natural spring and natural phenomenon that occurs near Muzina in the Vlora Region, south of Albania. A popular tourist attraction, the clear blue water of the river floats from a stunning pond, over fifty feet deep. divers have descended to fifty meters, but it is still unclear what is the actual depth of the karst hole.
This is the source of the 25 km long Bistrica River water, which ends in the Ionian Sea south of Saranda.
The source stands at a height of 152 m and has a discharge rate of 18,400 l / s.
The immediate area 1.8 km2 (0.69 sq mi) is a Monument of Nature and is characterized by oak and feather trees. In the summer of 2004 the source was temporarily drained.
